The college editor is primarily responsible for the research, writing and editing of college publications such as the Davidson Journal. The editor is available to consult with clients on concepts and strategies, and, on a limited basis, to write and edit a range of communications.
In general, Davidson College follows the style guidelines set forth in the Associated Press Stylebook and Merriam-Webster Dictionary. For style questions not specifically addressed in the College Style Guide, consult one of the references above.

News & Media Relations
College Communications is dedicated to sharing Davidson College news with the college community and the media, and to helping journalists secure expert interviews, photographs, and rich media for stories. College Communications maintains a news beat system where a specific staff member is assigned an academic or administrative department. If you have a potential news story please contact your assigned news beat staff member or contact Lisa Patterson. If you receive an inquiry from the media or know of a story that may be of interest to the media, please contact Jay Pfeifer.
The office provides photography services primarily to support its publications, media relations, and digital communication efforts, but also accepts photo assignment requests from other campus departments when possible. The office maintains a photo archive website of Davidson images.

Advancement Communications is a division of College Relations and supports the offices in charge of fundraising and stewardship. Its primary goal is to raise awareness of and encourage support for college priorities and programs among Davidson alumni, parents, and friends. The Advancement Communications team writes persuasive and inspiring stories about gifts, donors, and fundraising campaigns and produces print and digital publications that convey the effect that donors have on Davidson and its students. This office is also responsible for broad-reaching video projects that highlight the institution’s top marketing, branding, and fundraising initiatives.
